Silver Creek Ranch is a 400 acre inholding in the San Juan National Forest, approximately 8 miles from Mancos, Colorado and 30 miles from Durango. A variety of wildlife roams the ranch including elk, mule deer, black bear, mountain lion, turkey and grouse. There are two year round streams with a good population of brook trout in addition to three ponds stocked with rainbow trout.

The ranch has a 64' by 48' building that is has a large garage capable of housing some of the ranch equipment in half of it. Power, Fuel and Water
Power for the ranch is provided by an array of 40 photovoltaic panels, lead acid batteries with 10 KW propane powered generator for backup. Water from the ranch is provided by an enclosed spring that fills an 1800 gallon cistern which is serviced by a variable speed submersible pump. A large wood burning stove provides most of the heat and is augmented with a propane furnace.

The ranch has miles of roads and trails that allow access to virtually all areas of the ranch for maintenance activities but also provide excellent venues for ATV or horseback riding. The excellent wildlife population affords excellent viewing or hunting opportunities. The middle fork of the Mancos River and Silver Creek provide good fishing for brook trout and the ponds hold good populations of large rainbow trout.
